- For his final project at the royal academy of art, Jeroen went back to his birth town, Nijmegen in the Netherlands. There he made portraits of people in their own living rooms and he made pictures of different interiors. In doing so he tried to visualise the changes that had taken place during his absence. The places and people he left behind are no longer the same. The surroundings in which he grew up, which formed his childhood, no longer seem to be in place. There is only a vague remembrance triggered by the faces of people and their interiors.
