  • In this series Jeroen Arians has taken his own environment as a starting point for his photographic research. In reflecting upon his environment he tells a story on his own life. He zooms in at details which would normally mean nothing: a door, a couch, a staircase. In this case it all contributes to the narrative. The faces of people who are in any way important in the photographers life, combined with details of his surroundings, give a melancholy feel of life in Antwerp.
